Design notes
- Single-piece strap construction — no glued or laminated layers to delaminate over time.
- Hand-burnished edges sealed with beeswax rather than edge paint, so the finish can be refreshed at home.
- The roller buckle sits flat against the skin to reduce pressure points during long wear.
- The lining is a separate, replaceable component. The strap is designed to be re-lined instead of replaced.
Open questions
- Should the hardware be removable so the collar can be worn discreetly in public?
- Would a narrower 16 mm option suit more people than the current 22 mm?
- How much does a fully replaceable lining add to the price, and is it worth it?
